What are high-volume low-speed fans?

A high-volume low-speed (HVLS) fan is a mechanical fan with a diameter greater than 7 feet (2.1 m). HVLS fans move – as its name implies – slowly and distribute large amounts of air. Most HVLS fans can be classified as industrial or commercial.
